After a few days of reflection after the launch of IOS 5, I summarize what we consider to have been the most notable improvements among so many new features that brings the new mobile operating system from Apple. Come to:
- Notification center: total renew in the reporting system. Will now be organized Cydia style (such as “Mobile Notifier”) with a touch of Android. We can lower the center Notification menu from the status bar like a blind and watch our reports organized by applications. On the other hand are also available on the locked screen.
- Newsstand: an iBook, but magazines and newspapers. Same appearance (wood grain shelf), but works like a folder. As a prominent role, publications updated in the background.
- Twitter: With fully integrated in IOS. With this integration we can set the login from “adjustment” just activate the phone. The integration system includes applications such as camera, photo galleries, Safari … We can tweet directly links from YouTube, Maps, all optionally geo.
- Safari: improvements to the engine (open source) and read page format adapted for comfort. It also adds a Reading list, to save the pages we want to finish reading later. The iPad will also have tabbed browsing.
- Mail: add rich formatting text, control of bleeding, ability to “drag” addresses, search entire messages, business support services (encryption …).
- Camera: adds a shortcut to the camera app from the locked screen. Also we use the physical button volume up to take the picture. We can also zoom with the pinch gesture while making the picture. And edit the photos from camera right after them: cropping, rotating, red-eye correction, an adjustment of parameters.
- Free PC: wireless sync can activate the phone on the fly via the Internet, and updates will also be over the air. Also updates now “delta” we no longer download the entire OS, just what has changed. On the other hand, we can also synchronize with our iTunes via Wi-Fi.
- IMessage : messaging service between users of IOS running on WiFi and 3G, with support for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch. An Apple WhatsApp integrated with the Messaging application: we can send text, photos, videos and contacts. All encrypted. We can also optionally activate acknowledgment.
S burning desire “to prove it? Bad news: The update will be available this fall for iPhone 3G and iPhone 4, the two iPad, iPod touch and third and fourth generation, although there is a first beta available for developers to be made to tinker.
